Welcome to the Wellington Mahjong & Chinese Chess Club
Join our friendly club for regular sessions of Mahjong (麻將), Chinese Chess (象棋), and Go (圍棋) in Wellington.
We meet on Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons for relaxed, social sessions — open to all skill levels, from complete beginners to experienced players. You're welcome to drop in or leave anytime, and feel free to bring along friends or family.
🀄 Mahjong is our main game, played using 13-tile Cantonese rules. Other styles like Hong Kong, Taiwanese, and Sichuan are also welcome depending on the table. A few sets include English numerals for beginners.
♟️ Chinese Chess and Go sets are available for those interested.
🎯 Mahjong lessons are offered during Saturday sessions.
🍵 Light refreshments included.
